How to Add Lyrics to Your iPod Songs Automatically

Music and Lyrics go together like Turkey and Cranberry Sauce. Have one without the other and it just wouldn’t be a song…or Thanksgiving dinner. Apple’s iTunes has given you the option to add the lyrics for each song in your library, however it’s a highly manual and rather time-consuming process if you have an extensive music library. Third-party software gives the music lover an easy, automated way to track down and add the lyrics to each song in their iTunes Library. Eternal Storms Software’s GimmeSomeTune, a small helper script and a bit of time is all you need. Be aware that the following instructions are for Macintosh users only.

How to Change Brightness of an Image in Photoshop

March 28, 2008

The simplest way to make a photo brighter using the Curves feature is to click-drag the midtone part of the curve upwards. Dragging the curve downwards makes the photo darker. Using curves to perform this action means that both the shadows and highlight tones are left untouched by the changes. In the Menu Bar just Image>Adjustment>Curves or just hit the short cut Ctrl+M.

How to Use WinRar

Introduction:

WinRAR has become one of the most popular archiving programs for Windows today.

It enables users to put multiple files into one archive, which also reduces the over-all file size using “compression” schemes.  Once files have been “zipped,” they can be stored (as the one file) on disk, sent across the internet, and more.  WinRAR’s strength lies within its ability to handle multiple file types, as well as its advanced compression options.

Opening WinRAR:

WinRAR is pre-installed on all Rutgers University computers.  To open the program, go through the “Start” menu in the bottom left of the screen.

Start >> Programs >> Utilities >> WinRAR

Image

Note that very rarely will you have to actually open WinRAR like this.  Once installed, it integrates seamlessly into Windows, allowing you to perform functions with WinRAR by simply right-clicking files and making selections within, for example, the Windows Explorer environment.

How to Do Little Hacks to Speed Up XP

DISABLE INDEXING SERVICES
Indexing Services is a small little program that uses large amounts of RAM and can often make a computer endlessly loud and noisy. This system process indexes and updates lists of all the files that are on your computer. It does this so that when you do a search for something on your computer, it will search faster by scanning the index lists. If you don’t search your computer often, or even if you do search often, this system service is completely unnecessary. To disable do the following:

How to Get a High Quality Print from a Color Printer

If you have invested in a high quality color photo printer and have a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop, you should be able to get a very high quality image out of it. Here’s how.

Step 1:
Invest in a quality paper. Cheap or generic brand inkjet papers generally do not hold ink very well. Most manufacturers develop their papers, printers and inks to work the best together. The same goes for the ink you buy. Your printer will work best if you buy the inks that are designed to go with it, rather than a generic.

Step 2:
Pay attention to your settings. If you are printing an image from Photoshop you have a great deal of control over this. Go to "File," then "Print." In the print dialog window, click on "Properties."

How to Use Photoshop Clipping Mask trick

This little trick which involves manipulating layers is quiet simple but it is a very powerful device for photomontages. It is important for a Photoshop artist to know how to make layers interact with each other. If you are new to Photoshop probably you do not know that Layers is one of the features that make Photoshop the best among the rest. Now is the time for you to start experimenting and playing with Layers.

In this example we will be changing the shirt of the child in the image, from a plain white to something that is printed. I have used two images, image A and image B. Image A is the image with the child and image B will be use to “change” the child’s shirt.

How to Create a Flash Rollover Button with KoolMoves

I discovered KoolMoves 3 years ago by accident. I was looking for a cheaper alternative for 3D Studio Max when i bumped into it in one forum for graphic artists. I though it was a 3D software because the person who was raving about it talked about a 3d animation lesson with KoolMoves. But when i read the whole tutorial it came out that he was actually talking about how to create a “psuedo 3D” animation with this small but very powerful flash authoring software called KoolMoves. I tried the software and fell in love with it because it is easy to use yet very powerful.

Here’s a little tutorial that would get you started with KoolMoves.
